Starlooks Starbox - November 2013

Hi Loves!

I'm back again with yet another amazing Starlooks Starbox review for you! As you know from my past reviews I absolutely have adored every product of theirs that I have tried, and you guessed it, this box is no different, this box may even contain one of my favorite products ever!

Just like in the past, this box is packaged lovely, with pretty tissue paper, and a pretty bow. I plan to use these boxes to wrap Christmas gifts, it's a great way to recycle them.

Included in the box again this month is an awesome discount code you can use for yourself or when spreading Starlooks love this holiday season!
40% off ANY starlooks.com purchase.

Products this month:
5 Shade Shadow Palette (in Monaco)
Retail value- $41!
This palette features some great shadows, with a wide range from neutral to bold, you can create so many different looks with this, for any occasion.
Shades- Clean matte white; gorgeous taupe/greyiege; rich burnt orange; deep navy blue; metallic gold
I like each of these shades, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would probably be the taupe it's so beautiful and multi-dimensional.

Slanted Liner Brush (#824)
Retail value- $18
An excellent staple brush for any collection, I have several of these but you can never have too many, they have a lot of great uses, my favorite being for gel liner on your upper lash line. I have even seen them used for lipliner and lipstick. Great for very clean, precise lines.

Infinity Pot Liner (in Orion)
Retail value- $13
Love love love this! It is such a gorgeous matte color, a mixture of blue/green, depending on how it the light hits it. As soon as I opened this I immediately went and put it on (using the slanted liner brush included) when I applied it, it looked to be a gorgeous blue, but once I got outside the amazing green started to shine through. With it's lovely creamy texture it works excellent for lining your lashline, waterline, as a cream shadow, or shadow base.
(I took a few extra pictures of this one trying to capture the different shades. The swatch doesn't do it justice at all)

Included a surprise bonus item, a Starlooks sharpener, which is always a great thing to have if you misplace them as much as I do.

If you are a makeup lover, or have one in your life these boxes would make an excellent gift this holiday season, they could get their first box for the holidays and continue to receive them for months to come. It's like the gift that keeps on giving. On a card included with each box there are multiple options included:

Starlooks Starbox - October 2013

Hi Loves!

I'm very excited to have a new Starlooks Starbox review for you, this one is for their October 2013 box. If you aren't familiar with Starlooks I mention these subscription boxes in detail in my reviews of the January & February boxes. As you can see in the past reviews, I adore Starlooks & their products, I have yet to be disappointed and this box is no exception, it's excellent.

Now for the box itself, it comes packaged very nicely in a glossy white box, I noticed from from other reviews that they got a black box but it makes no difference, the products inside are exactly the same.
Inside are multiple note cards with coupon codes, and information.

Coupon codes included:
40% off any starlooks.com purchase. Code: ILOVESTARLOOKS

$50 off at glasses at rivetandsway.com Code: Spotted

Now for this products in this months box..

3 Shadow Blush Palette (in 3B1)
Retail value- $46
This compact palette features 3 beautiful, pigmented blush shades, and a nice large mirror. I adore each of these shades, it's a super versatile palette that I think you could use in any season or occasion. You can build up, or sheer out these shades to make them into whatever you would like.
Colors include- A light, baby doll pink; True peachy coral; Rich burgundy

Gem Eye Pencil (in Mirage)
Retail value- $14
I am absolutely in love with this eyeliner pencil! It is a gorgeous, metallic silver and has so many uses! I have used it on my waterline, lashline, inner corner, and as an eyeshadow base (It goes amazing under starstruck from the UD Vice 2 palette). Usually colored pencils like this are dry, and not very pigmented it but that is so far from the case with this one, it glides like butter!

Tendergloss (in Puzzy)
Retail value- $13
These tendergloss are a unique product, I don't own anything else like it, it's sheer tinted lipgloss, in a lipstick form. They are a definite excellent choice for anyone who likes a natural, moisturized look. Great for enhancing your natural lipcolor. 'Puzzy' is a beautiful peachy shade, with gold reflects.

Retail value for entire box- $73!! Not to mention the awesome discount codes included. I love Starbox because it includes full sized, great quality products. If you're not a fan of one time use samples, and like saving money, this is definitely the subscription box for you! They also have gift options if you know someone who would enjoy one this holiday season!

Shoppers Drug Mart haul & mini product reviews- 28/09/13

Shoppers Drug Mart Haul - September 2013

Hey Ladies!

I did a bit of shopping tonight, just picked up a couple products that are new to the drugstore near me, some of them I've been dying to find for ages now, a lot aren't new to stores but we always seem to be late getting the good stuff, hah.

Covergirl Lip Perfection jumbo gloss balm
($8.99/each)
I LOVE THESE! haha If I'm going to keep it real I should probably tell you that I bought Watermelon Twist, went home, put it on & felt obliged to go right back to the store & get another one, haha (don't judge me!) I eventually want to own every single one of these! While I'm usually not a fan of pencil lipbalm/glosses these are super glossy and surprisingly pigmented, thoroughly enjoy that they twist up rather than sharpen as well. I put watermelon twist on & did a double take because I was shocked at how pigmented it was on my lips in just one application. You can definitely layer these to get a very vibrant color pay off. There isn't much of a scent with these, maybe a very very mild waxy smell, not noticeable.

#215 Coral Twist

#235 Watermelon Twist
(I smooshed this one taking the cover off. Oops)

(Watermelon Twist - Coral Twist)

Essence Stay Matt lip cream
($2.99/each)
I haven't tried these on my lips yet but I love me a good matte lip, & I've loved pretty much every Essence lip gloss I've tried so far so I have a feeling these will be great. After swatching them I can just tell they're super pigmented and going to be long lasting (maybe even stain). And they smell super sweet, kinda like vanilla icing.

#01 Velvet Rose
Looks kind of orange/nude in the pictures but it is more of a pinky/dusty rose/nude in person.

#02 Smooth Berry
At the store this looked liked it was going to be a super hot pink, but when I swatched it at home it's boarder-lining on red.

(Smooth Berry - Velvet Rose)

Nivea Lip Butter - Vanilla & Macadamia
($4.49)
Love love love this! I've seen these in a lot of favorites videos on YouTube & have been trying for ages to find them & finally found this one tonight. I think they come in more flavors which I would love to have but I was lucky to find this one. They are super moisturizing and smells great. It leaves your lips feeling so smooth & lovely. Usually don't lip products I have to use my finger to apply, but for this one I'm willing to make the exception. It has a scent like the title 'vanilla & macadamia', I can smell both the vanilla & nuts for sure, although it isn't overly strong.

Carmex Lip Ointment

($3.99)
Been hearing about Carmex for years, so many people consider it to be their holy grail & I have to agree, it is great. It reminds me a lot of Blistex, including the medicinal scent it has. This isn't a lip balm I'd use daily because it's medicated, thick and has that scent but during seasons or times where I feel like my lips really need a good treatment this will definitely be my go-to. I noticed at the store that it also comes in a little jar (again like Blistex) but I opted for this one so I don't have to use my finger, but I believe both products are the same.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro
($5.99/each)
I have quite a few of the original Baby Lips in my collection, I think it's the packaging that keeps getting me because I rarely find myself using them, hah I'm a sucker for cute packaging, it's sad. But since I've gotten these Electro ones I use them all the time, they are way better than the originals, more moisturizing and better color pay off, I want the whole collection. Even though I don't think it should be $5.99 for what is essentially just a lip balm. These kinda have a mild fruity scent, nothing strong or offensive.

#85 OH! ORANGE!

#95 STRIKE A ROSE

Bella Earrings
($12.99)
Earrings are definitely something that I don't need more of but I couldn't pass these up. I love triangular/geometric style of these. $12.99 is kind of a bit much in my opinion for 'costume jewelry' but they're hypoallergenic which is great because I usually have a reaction to fake metals, especially in earrings & bracelets.

Softsoap Tropical Acai Berry moisturizing body wash
with moisture beads

($7.49)
I absolutely love Softsoap body wash and this scent is no different. It smells so amazing, it almost rivals my #1 favorite their pomegranate & mango one. I find that they always smell amazing, lather well, and leave your skin smelling & feeling amazing.

Random:

Dasani Drops
(3.49/each)
I love to drink water but hate drinking plain water, and apparently it IS possible to drink too much vitamin water (who knew? not me, hah). So, I've been trying a lot of these new 'liquid flavor inhancers' it seems like every company in the world is coming out with them. But these Dasani ones are by far my favorite! The pink lemonade one has even converted my boyfriend into a water drinker, someone who only used to drink coffee and soda. I definitely recommend trying them!

Hope you enjoyed!

Starlooks Starbox - February 2013

Hi loves!

Guess what came today!? My February Starlooks Starbox! After the awesome box I got last month I was super excited when I saw that it came today! Then I opened the envelope & saw the box itself was purple and pink which increased my excitement by about 10% hah :)

If you aren't familiar with Starlooks or their Starboxes you can find my January review here, where I explain it all in more detail!

This month's box was a special edition one featuring products designed and inspired by professional makeup artist, Lauren Clark. There was a nice pamphlet included with info about the products, Lauren, and some nice face charts & instructions on possible looks.

Products in this months box:

Infinity Pot Liner: Satin (in Princess Diaries)
This is a super pretty, creamy gel liner. It is a nice light pink shade. The thing I love most about this that it can also be worn alone all over the lid, as a shadow base or even as a pop of color on your inner color or lower lash line!
(Retail price: $15! This gel liner alone pays for the price of the box! Everything else you get is a bonus! Wow!)

Fluid Blush (in Barbie)
If you like pigmented, and/or cream blush this is definitely the product for you! I can't even begin to explain how pigmented and creamy this is, you literally need the smallest amount of product you can get out of the tube. I took a picture of the tiny amount of product that covered the entire back of my hand. I couldn't believe it. This blush is very blendable & can be applied with your fingers or a duo fiber brush.
(Retail $15)

Lauren Clark Signature Lip Liner (in Tipsy)
This creamy, pigmented lipliner is a beautiful true coral shade. The swatch below is showing it a bit on the orange side, but in person it's definitely coral. I love not only lining a my lips with lip liner, but filling in my whole lip! I either top it with a lipstick to make it last all day, or just top the liner with a pretty gloss.
(Retail $8)

Love this shade. It's a very pale purple/pink, loaded with shine. The formula is thankfully not sticky at all, but super smooth. I took swatches at 2 different angles to show the color, and the shine. Also topped it over the lip liner to show the pretty color that creates.
(Retail $11)

This is the lipgloss & liner combined

I absolutely adore Starbox, as of now it is hands down my favorite subscription box. No silly foil packet samples that most of us will never use, all full sized products! This month's box had a retail value of $47, while only costing $15! That's a $32 savings, & 4 full sized products! You really cannot beat that in a subscription box.

If you missed out on this month's Starbox you can find it here for just $10 more!
You can also buy the entire line of Lauren Clark Signature Set here for $32.
